Welcome to Dartford Player Development Centre, our weekly programme designed to develop the individual player through high-quality, structured and progressive football coaching.

Our focus is on helping players become more confident, technically capable, creative and intelligent on the ball, giving them the individual skills and understanding they need to perform more effectively within the game.

Sessions are delivered by experienced FA & UEFA licensed coaches, with players grouped according to age and ability so that every child receives the right balance of challenge, development and enjoyment.

Whether your child already plays for a team and wants additional individual development, is looking to take their game to the next level, or simply wants to become a better footballer, Player Development is suitable for all abilities.

⭐ Our Player Development Programme

Develop the player. Apply it to the game.

Every 90-minute session places the individual player at the heart of the programme, with progressive coaching designed to improve technique, confidence, decision-making and ability on the ball.

⚽ Ball Mastery & First Touch

Players receive plenty of touches of the ball, developing close control, first touch, ball manipulation, turning and the confidence to use both feet.

🎯 Passing, Receiving & Finishing

Technical coaching helps players improve the quality of their passing, receiving, striking and finishing, while learning how to perform these skills effectively under pressure.

🆚 1v1 Attacking & Defending

A major part of Player Development is helping children become confident in individual situations.

Players learn how to:

* Beat opponents with the ball
* Protect and retain possession
* Change speed and direction
* Create space
* Defend effectively in 1v1 situations
* React and make decisions under pressure

🧠 Individual Decision-Making

Developing technique is only part of becoming a better player.

Our coaches encourage players to recognise when, where and why to use different skills, helping them become more intelligent and independent decision-makers on the pitch.

🎨 Confidence & Creativity

Players are encouraged to express themselves, try new things and play without fear of making mistakes.

We want children to leave our sessions with greater confidence in their own ability and the freedom to be creative with the ball.

📈 Progressive Player Challenges

Activities are adapted according to age, ability and stage of development, allowing coaches to challenge every player appropriately and continually introduce new technical and individual challenges.

⚽ Applying Development to the Game

Match play remains an important part of every Player Development session.

Players are given opportunities to apply the individual skills and decisions they have been working on in realistic game situations and matches.

The emphasis isn’t simply on winning the game — it’s on helping players recognise opportunities to use their developing skills when it matters.

🏆 Represent F4A Dartford

Players attending Dartford Player Development Centre may also be selected to represent F4A Dartford in our inter-centre competition league.

Selected players will compete against:

* ⚽ F4A Bexleyheath
* ⚽ F4A Hoo

These fixtures provide another opportunity for players to put their development into practice through competitive match play, while proudly representing their centre.

Selection is based on age, development and readiness, with opportunities available across the programme.

🌟 Player Pathway Opportunities

Our coaches continually support and monitor each player’s development. Where appropriate, we can help players progress towards:

* Professional club academy opportunities
* Local grassroots football teams
* Football ‘4’ All Advanced Development Centre

Every player develops at their own pace. Our focus is on helping each child improve their individual game, grow in confidence and reach their own potential.

🧤 What Your Child Needs

* Football training kit
* Tracksuit or sweatshirt during colder weather
* Waterproof jacket when required
* Plastic or rubber-studded boots / suitable trainers
* Shin pads – compulsory
* A cold, non-fizzy drink
* And plenty of energy! 😄

💷 Pay as You Play

Dartford Player Development Centre operates on a Pay as You Play basis at £10 per session, giving families the flexibility to attend without committing to a full term.

Once registered, simply turn up, pay on arrival and train!
